Metropolitan Art 11

Metropolitan Art 11 enters the heart of its autumn season with a month dedicated to artistic practice, training, and shared creation. Metropolitan Art 11 enters the heart of its autumn season with a month dedicated to artistic practice, training, and shared creation. After the guided visits of September, October becomes the time of the laboratories: places of encounter, research, and attentive listening, where citizens, young artists, and national companies transform contemporary art into gesture, movement, and voice.
Led by Stalker Teatro, the project continues to weave languages and communities together, building a widespread laboratory that crosses Officine CAOS, the BiblioBus, local schools, the Correctional Facility, and the public spaces of the neighbourhood. The museums visited in September — PAV, Fondazione Merz, Fondazione Sandretto — now become creative “pre‑texts”: stimuli that take shape as performative material, collective dramaturgies, and choral actions.
Laboratories: the body as a place of relation
IL CORPO COME PONTE
Contemporary dance laboratory Twain physical dance theatre (RM)
Officine CAOS
Saturday 3 October, 3:00–8:00 PM
Sunday 4 October, 3:00–8:00 PM

… E NOI QUI
Final performance BiblioBus / Piazza Montale
Monday 5 October, 11:00 AM
The laboratory opens itself to the city: languages of the body, voice, and sound intertwine in a collective action that transforms the square into a place of encounter and shared narration.
Theatre as a tool for freedom
TEATRO DELL’OPPRESSO
Laboratory Teatro AEnigma (PU)
Officine CAOS
Friday 9 October, 6:00–8:30 PM
Saturday 10 October, 2:30–7:00 PM
Sunday 11 October, 2:30–7:00 PM
A pathway for volunteers, young artists, and interested citizens to learn and practice the techniques of Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed. A laboratory centred on participation, awareness, and the possibility of imagining shared solutions.
TEATRO FORUM
Final performance Casa Circondariale Lorusso e Cutugno Monday 12 October, 2:30 PM
A problematic scene becomes a stimulus for the “spect-actors”: the audience is invited to intervene, propose, and transform. Theatre as an exercise in freedom, dialogue, and shared responsibility.
REACTION: the participatory creation takes shape
Reaction Laboratories — Young artists
Officine CAOS 2, 7, 13, 15, 21, 27, 29 October
6:00–8:30 PM
A training pathway guiding participants through all phases of creating a work of social theatre. The artworks seen in the museums become stimuli for building original performative tableaux.
Reaction Laboratories — Interested citizens
Officine CAOS 1, 6, 8, 14, 20, 22, 28 October
2:30–5:30 PM
A laboratory open to people of all ages and backgrounds: a process that transforms artistic practice into a community experience, where each contribution becomes part of the new participatory production.
Towards November: the birth of REACTION
The October laboratories prepare the ground for Reaction, the new multidisciplinary performance by Stalker Teatro, directed by Gabriele Boccacini. An event composed of performative tableaux born from the dialogue between territory, museums, community, and contemporary artistic practices. The general rehearsals and November performances will present to the public a choral, generative, and shared work.
