Giovanni Rosazza | Painter

History

Born in Turin in 1961 into a family of ancient origins from Biella, they approached painting at just five years old, immediately demonstrating an innate ability to transfer their inner world onto canvas. During adolescence, they became fascinated by Salvador Dalí, and at the age of seventeen, began exhibiting their first Surrealist oil paintings. In 2001, putting oil painting aside, they dedicated themselves to acrylics, focusing primarily on women and the nuances of their souls. 2012 marked the debut of their first FUORITEMPO (Out of Time) series paintings appreciated worldwide in which the barriers of time and space are shattered, and figures from the past, painted in black and white, come back to life within modern, colorful contexts. In 2022, they launched a new series titled FUORILUOGO (Out of Place), dedicated to the yearning for normalcy after the pandemic and despite the war, highlighting everyday actions within devastated environments. Since 2024, they have returned to Surrealism with the new OLTRECONFINE (Beyond Borders) series. Alongside these, and of equal significance, is the creation of Hyperrealist acrylic illustrations on canvas featuring diverse subjects ranging from cars to portraiture under the BraveArt line, as well as interior design paintings for the GRarreda line. They have participated in over 100 solo and group exhibitions, showcasing their work at the most prestigious art fairs both in Italy and abroad, receiving numerous awards. Currently, they teach painting at the Università Popolare Biellese and offer lessons through various other institutions.
