There is a moment, in public space, when the passage of a body ignites a story. One gesture is transmitted, another receives it, yet another transforms it. It is in this fragile and luminous territory between what remains and what passes that Compagnie Ex Nihilo builds Pour commencer à en parler, a creation that moves through the city like a shared breath, a meeting between generations who seek each other, listen to each other, and surprise one another.
The 38th edition of Officine CAOS’ season Differenti Sensazioni continues its journey through multidisciplinary arts by hosting one of Europe’s most radical companies in site-specific research, engaged for thirty years in reinventing dance within urban space.

“Pour commencer à en parler”
Cie Ex Nihilo (France)
To celebrate its thirtieth anniversary, Ex Nihilo returns to the street a living, shared, unpredictable place to question the memory of gesture and its transmission through time. Pour commencer à en parler is born from the encounter between an intergenerational group of dancers and a live musician: a poetic crossing that brings young and mature bodies into dialogue, each carrying different rhythms, silences, fragilities, and strengths.
The creation unfolds like a fabric of presences that brush against and respond to one another, a human landscape that composes and dissolves before the audience’s eyes. Bodies become living archives, memories in motion, traces that settle and transform. Between heritage and creation, the performance revolves around a simple and radical question: How can bodies of different ages continue, in public space, to meet, surprise, move, and unite?

In this dance that moves through time, the city becomes a place of revelation: a terrain where gesture renews itself, is transmitted, and allows itself to be altered. A choreography that does not seek to represent urban life, but to inhabit it, to listen to its vibrations, to reflect its complexity through the presence of bodies.
