New appointment of the “Different Sensations – 38th edition” season at Officine CAOS. On Friday 23 January, dance will take centre stage with the Croatian company YAC – Yellowbiz Art Collective, an emerging voice in the contemporary European scene, presenting “What do you see, or not”. An intense and refined creation that explores human dynamics through an essential physical language, weaving together movement, live music and a strong emotional dimension.

What do you see, or not delves into the deepest layers of human instinct: the connections that slip away, the vulnerabilities that inhabit us, the desire to recover what seems lost. The piece unfolds in three chapters, where dance and the original music of the ReVibrant Trio intertwine in a tight dialogue capable of disarming the audience and guiding them into an unexpected emotional landscape. The performers move through states of tension and release, strength and fragility, alternating clashes, complicity and moments of suspension. The stage becomes populated with recurring objects and gestures that act as traces, clues, memories—small signs that accompany the audience on a journey of revelations and questions.
The choreography explores themes such as emotional dependence, the search for belonging and the construction of identity, transforming movement into a direct and incisive language. Each encounter between the dancers opens a new space of possibility, a threshold through which to observe what we see—or choose not to see—in human relationships.
YAC – Yellowbiz Art Collective is a young multidisciplinary collective founded in 2024 in Rijeka by Michele Pastorini, María Matarranz de las Heras and Valentin Chou, artists active within the Ballet of the Croatian National Theatre. The company was born from the desire to explore new forms of contemporary dance through a collaborative approach that blends movement, sound research and a strong focus on the spectator’s perceptive experience. Despite its recent foundation, YAC has quickly distinguished itself within the Croatian scene for the quality of its physical research and its ability to craft powerful yet accessible imagery “What do you see, or not” marks their official debut, welcomed with interest by local critics and premiered at HNK Rijeka in November 2024.
